Rax Industry ADSS accessories are designed to be self-damping so as to prevent low amplitude, high-frequency vibration.

Rax Industry ADSS accessories which include dead end cable grip, preformed suspension clamp are never allowed the transfer of tensile load more than 95% of the maximum permissible tensile load of ADSS cable.

Slippage will only happen between a protective helical rod and terminal helical rod. The protective helical rod will not slip.

The Material of ADSS Cable Accessories

Rax Industry ADSS cable accessories that are lashed to messenger wire are made from galvanized steel wire, aluminum alloys wire, aluminum-clad steel wire. The steel wire used for a helical rod will be a galvanizing coating of 275g/m2 or 43miron.

For any other components, the galvanizing coating mass is according to ISO1461 or applicable material standard unless specified otherwise.

    1. Preformed Armour Rod

armour rodRax Industry preformed armour rod, which is also called structural reinforcing rod(SRR) is made of galvanized high tensile steel wire or aluminum alloy wire. The helical rods will be glued together to form a line. Three or four lines consist of one set of preformed armour rod.

Rax Industry preformed armour rods were installed directly on the ADSS Optical Fiber before assembling the preformed dead-end grips and performed suspension clamp.

Rax Industry preformed armour rod will spread the radial force of the preformed tension/suspension clamp with a longer zone of contact, in this way, Rax Industry preformed armour rod will reduce the locally concentrated high pressure of these pointed loads.

By increasing the total area of contact with the cable, Rax Industry Preformed armour rod can reduce the torsional deformation in the part of contact between the cable and the fixture.

Once the diameter, length, and number of wires in one subset and number of subsets in one set of preformed armour rod were confirmed, the basic specification was confirmed

    2. Dead End Cable Grips

Rax Industry dead end cable grips are made of hot-dip galvanized high tensile steel wires or aluminum alloy which are laid side by side and glued together and bent to form a loop.

The loop was used to hold a thimble. Rax Industry dead end cable grips are designed to reduce the torsional deformation in the part of contact between the cable and the helical part by increasing the total area of the contact.

Rax Industry dead end cable grips are attached effectively to the cable and distribute the radially compressive forces over a wide area while providing excellent grip to the cable without undue stress on the fiber.

    3. Preformed suspension clamp

Rax Industry preformed suspension clamp which also calls suspension helix has a different shape with dead-end cable grip. Rax Industry suspension helix is bent to form a loop in the middle which is fitted with a steel ring or a clevis thimble.

The Preformed suspension clamp specification is designed the same way as the preformed armour rod.

    4. Vibration Damper

Rax Industry spiral vibration damper is made of a solid PVC rod and designed in the form of a spiral to suit the cable diameter.

Rax Industry spiral dampers have two sections: the gripping and the dampening section. The gripping section was wound over the protective helix and the dampening section was wound loosely over the cable.
