Cable Suspension Clamp
Cable Suspension Clamps are essential components used in overhead power line systems to securely grip and support messenger wires or cables. These devices typically consist of a body made from high-quality steel or aluminum alloy, a keeper, and clamping members. Cable Suspension Clamps are available in various types, including 3-bolt, curved, and one-bolt designs, with sizes accommodating strand diameters from 1/4″ to 7/16″.
The primary function of Cable Suspension Clamps is to provide a secure attachment point for cables while allowing controlled movement to prevent damage from environmental forces. During installation, these clamps are mounted on poles or towers using through bolts, which serve as clamping members. A nut and square washer are used between the clamp and pole to ensure proper spacing. Cable Suspension Clamps are commonly used in conjunction with insulators and other overhead line accessories in power distribution and telecommunication networks.
Features of Cable Suspension Clamps:
• Hot-dip galvanized for maximum corrosion protection
• Securely grip messenger wire to the pole
• Compatible with various cable sizes and types
• Provide proper spacing between clamp and pole
• Allow for installation at different angles (up to 20 degrees)
• Offer superior holding strength with serpentine groove designs
